This document is about the journey of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) with Pearl Solutions to shift its manual system of accounting into the latest technology software by using PearlERP. POA was using the legacy system due to which they were facing many problems in the accounting system, the issues will be discussed later in detail. This document includes the identification of key challenges, gap analysis of POA, developing system according to the need of organization, and then finally implementing it.

Introduction of POA

The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Pakistan. It was formed in 1948 to oversee the active participation of Pakistan at the Olympiad. Within the Country, the POA remains the oldest sports body. It was the premier regulator of sports activities in Pakistan from 1948 until the establishment of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) in 1962. The POA was recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1948. Subsequently, it also became a member of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) respectively.

Key Challenges

Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is the oldest sports body in Pakistan and using the legacy system to carry its accounting functions. Their manual system was facing many problems that were leading to mismanagement and misuse of things. Some of the key challenges are as follow:-

  • A manual system with fragile functions unable to meet the demands of the client in this technological world.
  • The double-entry system was there but tallying the entries was not possible due to system errors.
  • Mis-use of inventories was leading to losses in different manners.

Gap Analysis

After identifying the key challenges, we conducted the Gap analysis to understand the expectations of our client in depth. For gap analysis these tools are used which are mentioned below:-

  • Interviews of POA’s officials for knowing their expectations from us by using our PearlERP.
  • IT staff consultations for determining their ability to run the system.
  • The presentation was given by our officials about our ERP system.s

System Development

Our ERP system was well equipped to meet the requirements of the client, so no customization was made in any module.


In the implementation phase, we implemented the General Ledger System there with a lot of hard work. Implementation was a lengthy process because the amount of data was very huge. We did this task in the given time that was done with the client and this was a very big achievement that handling this much data with error-free working.


After the implementation phase and deploying the ERP system completely, we stay connected with POA and provide maintenance and support effectively. In this way, we earned a valuable client through our hardworking and dedication to serve the customers with the best possible terms.
